Last updated: May 2026 · Version 1.2
Before you continue
- • You must be 18 or older.
- • Your wallet is your account — protect your private key.
- • On-chain contract rules are final. We can't override them.
- • We don't hold your money. Escrow is in a smart contract.
- • 1% platform fee, charged at funding. No hidden charges.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Paystream. By connecting your wallet, you represent that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction and have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.
Paystream is not available to users in jurisdictions where USDC, Solana-based transactions, or smart contract escrow is prohibited by law. You are responsible for ensuring compliance with local laws.
Paystream is not available to users on US OFAC sanctions lists, EU consolidated sanctions lists, or HM Treasury sanctions lists. Wallet addresses associated with sanctioned entities will be blocked from the Paystream web interface.
2. Service Description
Paystream is a non-custodial smart contract platform that facilitates agreements between clients and freelancers. We provide:
•A web interface for creating and managing contracts
•On-chain escrow via Solana smart contracts
•Notifications, messaging, and profile infrastructure
Paystream does not hold or custody your USDC at any time. Escrow funds are held in program-derived addresses (PDAs) governed by open-source Solana programs. We have no ability to freeze, move, or confiscate escrowed funds.
Paystream is not a bank, money services business, or licensed financial institution. We do not provide investment advice, and USDC held in escrow is not protected by deposit insurance.
3. Account Responsibilities
Your Solana wallet is your account. You are responsible for:
•Keeping your private key and seed phrase secure. We cannot recover lost wallets.
•All activity that occurs under your wallet address.
•Accuracy of profile information you publish.
•Timely responses to contract events (submissions, approvals, cancellations).
•Compliance with tax obligations in your jurisdiction.
If you suspect your wallet is compromised, immediately stop using it and contact your wallet provider. Paystream cannot reverse transactions made from a compromised wallet.
4. Contract Mechanics
When you create or accept a contract on Paystream, you are agreeing to the terms specified in the contract, which are enforced on-chain. Paystream's interface reflects the on-chain state; in case of discrepancy, the on-chain state governs.
Key on-chain rules:
•**72-hour auto-release**: if a client does not approve or reject a submission within 72 hours, funds are automatically released to the freelancer. This is a smart contract rule and cannot be overridden by Paystream.
•**Cancellation by mutual consent**: both parties must agree to a cancellation and the proposed fund split. Unilateral cancellation is not possible after a contract becomes active.
•**Hourly accrual**: for hourly contracts, USDC accrues continuously per second from start time to end time. The freelancer may withdraw accrued amounts at any time.
•**Milestone independence**: each milestone in a Milestone-mode contract is independent. Approval and timeout rules apply per milestone.
•**No clawback**: once funds are released to a wallet on-chain, they cannot be recalled by Paystream or the counterparty.
5. Fees
Paystream charges a 1% platform fee on the contract amount, deducted at the time of escrow funding.
Solana network fees (transaction gas) are paid directly from your wallet and not collected by Paystream. These are typically less than $0.01 per transaction.
All fees are disclosed before confirmation. There are no hidden charges. Fee changes apply only to new contracts; existing contracts honor the rate at creation time.
6. Prohibited Uses
You may not use Paystream for:
•Illegal goods or services
•Fraud, money laundering, or financing of illegal activity
•Scamming, impersonation, or deceptive practices
•Evading sanctions or export controls
•Adult content, gambling, or weapons
•Any purpose prohibited by applicable law
Violation may result in account suspension and reporting to relevant authorities. Because contracts are on-chain, we cannot cancel or reverse completed transactions; suspension only restricts your access to the Paystream web interface.
7. Dispute Resolution
Paystream is a non-custodial platform and does not act as an arbiter in contract disputes between users.
Disputes should be resolved through:
1. Direct negotiation between parties 2. Mutual cancellation with agreed-upon fund split 3. The 72-hour auto-release mechanism for submission disputes 4. Community arbitration (coming in a future release)
By using Paystream, you acknowledge that on-chain contract mechanics are final and cannot be reversed by Paystream.
For disputes unrelated to on-chain contracts (e.g., platform account issues), contact support@paystream.io.
8. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of all work product, deliverables, and content you create. By posting content on Paystream (messages, profile bios, deliverable files), you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to display and transmit it as necessary to operate the platform.
Paystream's branding, interface, and product design are proprietary to Echonos AI. The Paystream Anchor program code will be open-sourced under MIT license prior to mainnet launch.
You agree not to copy our user interface, branding, or platform code in a way that creates a derivative product without express written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
Paystream is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
•We are not liable for on-chain transaction failures, Solana network downtime, or wallet losses.
•We are not liable for losses resulting from smart contract bugs that have not been disclosed to us.
•We are not liable for losses resulting from your sharing of private keys or seed phrases.
•We are not liable for the conduct of counterparties (clients or freelancers) you transact with.
•Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the platform fees you paid in the 30 days preceding the claim, or USD 100, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or statutory rights that cannot be excluded.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Paystream that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the Pakistan International Commercial Arbitration Act 2011, seated in Lahore. Arbitration shall be conducted in English by a single arbitrator.
If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws (e.g., EU, UK, India under DPDP Act 2023), those laws apply in addition to and, where they conflict, override these terms.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified by:
•Email (if you have one on file)
•Banner announcement in the platform
•Posted on the Paystream web app
Material changes will take effect no sooner than 14 days after notification. A change history is maintained at paystream.io/terms/history.
Your continued use of Paystream after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you disagree with material changes, you may stop using the platform; existing on-chain contracts will continue to operate per their original terms.
